Why purchase

Your numbers, not our promises.

Every figure below is one you enter. Two fields carry a published default, each cited and dated under the calculator. The rest start blank because no credible benchmark exists for them, and filling them in on your behalf would make the result ours rather than yours.

Your numbers

Every field starts blank or at a cited default. Nothing here is filled in with an invented number.

Calls that went to voicemail or unanswered. No universal per-week figure exists across industries, so this starts blank — enter your own count.

Your own average, after any discounts. This varies too widely across industries for a single default, so it starts blank.

Needed to turn a no-show rate into a dollar figure. Enter your own average.

Defaulted to 15%, the midpoint of the 5%–25% range reported across appointment-based literature (see source below). Replace it with your own rate if you track one.

Your own estimate. No single citable figure exists for 'admin hours' across local businesses, so this starts blank.

Defaulted to the U.S. median hourly wage for receptionists and information clerks (see source below). Replace it with what you actually pay, or your own hourly value, if different.

The arithmetic, worked through

Enter any of your own numbers above to see the arithmetic.

This is arithmetic on the numbers entered above, using an upper bound for missed calls (every missed call counted as a lost job at your average value). It is not an estimate, projection, or guarantee of bookings, revenue, or business outcomes.

Sources for the pre-filled defaults

Two fields carry a pre-filled default, each from a cited, dated, third-party source. Every other field starts blank because no credible universal benchmark was found for it — see the note under each field above.

Benchmarks researched and not used as defaults: third-party reporting on missed-call rates (for example, a January 2016 call-monitoring study of 85 businesses across 58 industries) describes what share of calls go unanswered, but not a per-week count, and multiple small-business surveys report inconsistent figures for weekly admin hours with no single authoritative source. Rather than convert or average those into an invented number, this page leaves those fields blank.
